• Organization Description Habitat is a nonprofit nondiscriminatory ecumenical Christian organization which was established in 1976 nationally and in 1989 in Whatcom County. Habitat volunteers build houses for low-income individuals and families with donated or inexpensive materials and land. To apply for a house applicants' income must be at or below 50% of the county's median level but they must be able to meet payments of approximately $350/month.
