LGBTQ POLITICS FORUM AT BELLINGHAM UNITARIAN FELLOWSHIP
Bellingham, WA -The Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship (BUF) and Mt. Baker Planned Parenthood will co-host a panel discussion on Feb. 11 from 10 a.m. to noon on the status of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer rights with regard to marriage-equality legislation in Washington state and anticipated challenges to its passage.
The forum features a brief look at the history of LGBTQ rights nationwide and in Washington State. Discussions will highlight progress of the current Washington United for Marriage bill and the personal, economic, and legal implications of this bill’s passage. The panel will lead a discussion on steps following the bill’s passage and activism for this and related issues.
The panel includes Kate Miller, who has been with her partner 26 years and was married in Portland until court ruling annulled it; Stephanie Kountouros, Public Policy Coordinator at Planned Parenthood; Erika Shepard, Transgender activist and LGBTQ spokesperson for BUF.

An integrated approach to Program Management and Communications

"Stewards of Children” is a revolutionary, interactive prevention program developed by Darkness to Light, a national child sexual abuse prevention organization. The program educates adults to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse, and to take proactive steps to protect children.
