Committees of the WCN

The Whatcom Council of Nonprofits is a volunteer organization. Volunteers are encouraged to serve on WCN committees: it is an excellent way to network with peers; learn about nonprofit and community resources, challenges and solutions; and help build the long-term capacity of the local nonprofit sector.

Steering Committee
The Steering Committee's role is to "maintain the mission of the whole," through involvement in and coordination of the three action committees (described above), and through the following activities:
  1. Promote a positive identity and ensure WCN organizational credibility
  2. Further the WCN mission statement in relation to committees
  3. Facilitate WCN resource development
  4. Promote the growth of the WCN and the nonprofit sector
