Philanthropy and the Federal Tax Rebate - A Fundraising Opportunity for Local Nonprofits

Whatcom Community Foundation and the Whatcom Council of Nonprofits are co-sponsoring a tax rebate ad campaign in local newspapers the Bellingham Herald, Bellingham Business Journal and Every Other Weekly in July and August. The purposes of this timely print campaign are twofold: 1) to raise the flag for the local nonprofit sector, and 2) to encourage people to give their windfall tax rebate to the local nonprofit of their choosing.

The IRS will mail notification to all eligible taxpayers in mid-July and the actual checks will be mailed in July, August and early September. The amounts are expected to be up to $300 and $600, depending on tax filing status.

Feeling great about your tax rebate?
Feel even better...invest it in a local charity

Our local nonporifts are doing great work for us all in human needs, environment, arts and culture, health and education. Please consider helping your favorite charities by making a tax-deductible donation with your rebate.

Need some ideas about where to send it? Check out the Whatcom Catalog for Philanthropy at www.philanthropycatalog.org or call 671-6453 for a copy of this guide to 68 quality local nonprofits that work to benefit us all.
